Cosmetology Class Schedules Full Time Day: Tuesday - Friday: 8 AM - 12 Noon & 12:30 - 3:30 PM 28 hrs. per week for 36 weeks
Full Time Night: Tuesday - Friday: 4:00 - 10 PM 24 hrs. per week for 42 weeks
Part Time Weekend: Saturday - Sunday: 9AM - 12 Noon and 12:30-5:30PM & Tues. 6-10PM 20 hrs per week for 50 weeks

Cosmetology Payment Schedules No Interest Time Payments; $1673.00 on or before the first day of instruction, $700.00 per month until the balance is paid in full.
Additional arrangements for payment may be made at the time of enrollment if necessary. All major credit cards are accepted.
Financial Aid Financial Aid is available for the Cosmetology Course if a student qualifies. For detailed information about Financial Aid Availability and Eligibility see pages 11-13.
Physical Demands The physical demands of the Cosmetologist require that for the most part you will be standing on your feet in the same area all day. If you are a Nail Specialist you will be required to be seated most of the day working over a table. In both occupations you will also do repetitive arm, hand and leg movements. Safety Requirements The major safety concerns center around the fumes and vapors emitted from the sprays and chemicals that are used every day in the salon. Your hands will also come into contact with a variety of chemicals found in styling aids, permanent waves, relaxers and hair color. The two most common chemicals are ammonia and alcohol.
If you have or may think you have; allergies, asthma, back, leg, shoulder, hand or finger problems or any other physical condition that might cause a problem for you while in school or working as a Cosmetologist or Nail Specialist consult your doctor before beginning classes.
Licensing Requirements 1. Successfully complete a NYS approved Cosmetology or Nail Specialty Course
2. Submit a completed "License Application" - $30 Application Fee to NYS.
3. Successfully complete a NYS Written Examination - $15 Exam Fee.
4. Successfully complete the 3 hr. NYS Practical Examination on a live model demonstrating a variety of salon services. - $15 Exam Fee.
5. Felony conviction(s) may effect your ability to obtain a Cosmetology or Nail Specialty license in NYS. You should contact the NYS Licensing Board at 518.474.4429 if you have any questions and/or concerns regarding your ability to obtain a license before you begin class.

Cancellation and Refund Policy An applicant not accepted for training shall be entitled to a refund of all monies paid.
If a student ( or in the case of a student under the legal age of 18, his/her parent or guardian ) cancels this enrollment agreement within three (3) business days of the signing of this enrollment agreement, all monies collected by the school shall be refunded. The cancellation date will be determined by the postmark on the written notification, or the date the said information is delivered to the school administration staff in person. This policy applies regardless of whether or not the student has actually started training. If a student cancels this enrollment agreement after the three (3) business days but prior to entering classes, the student is entitled to a refund of all monies paid to the school except the $100.00 Non-Refundable Registration Fee.
For students who enroll in and begin classes, the school may not retain more than the $100.00 Non-Refundable Registration Fee and the stated costs of textbooks, equipment and lab fees as have been issued by the school and accepted by the student plus:
(A) For students who enroll in the Full Time Day Class, a two (2) term program the school may retain the following percentages of tuition cost:
First and Second Term Refund Policy If termination occurs the school may keep Prior to or during the 1st week 0% During the second week 20% During the third week 35% During the fourth week 50% During the fifth week 70% After the fifth week 100%
(B) For students who enroll in the Full Time Night Class, a ( 3) Quarter program; or the Part Time Weekend Class, a three (3) Quarter program the school may retain the following percentages of tuition cost: if termination occurs the school may keep Prior to or during the 1st week 0% During the second week 25% During the third week 50% During the fourth week 75% After the fourth week 100% First, Second and Subsequent Quarters Refund Policy; if termination occurs the school may keep Prior to or during the 1st week 0% During the second week 25% During the third week 50% During the fourth week 75% After the fourth week 100%
Enrollment time is defined as the time elapsed between the actual starting date and the date of the student's last day of physical attendance.
The failure of a student to notify the director in writing of withdrawal may delay refund of tuition due pursuant to Section 5002 of the Education Law.?

Course Goals The primary purpose of the "Hairdressing/Cosmetology" Course is to train students with both theory and practical experience which will prepare them for entry-level employment opportunities with emphasis toward developing in the student desirable work habits and attitudes while encouraging self-reliance, a readiness to assist others, and an ethical approach to this profession as well as prepare the student to successfully complete the N.Y.S. Written and Practical Board Examinations.

Required Level of Achievement All students are required to maintain a minimum 70% grade point average on written, practical and clinic evaluations in order to be eligible to graduate and receive a Certificate of Completion. Refer to Satisfactory Progress Policy for more information.

A large selection of Reference books, manuals, periodicals and video tapes are available in the main office. Students may sign these items out over night.
Please Read - Very Important Your attendance is very important. Unlike some colleges where you are not required to attend all classes to complete; the State of New York requires you to be in class for all 1,000 Clock Hours of the Cosmetology Course.
Excessive Absence / Tardiness Accumulated absent, arriving late and/or leaving early in excess of 5% of the student's contracted time ( Full Cosmetology = 50 hours and Full Nail Specialty = 12.5 hours ) made up will be charged at the rate of $14.00 per hour once the student has exceeded the stated course length; the original graduation date.
This means that if you miss more than 5% of your class schedule it will cost you an additional $14.00 per hour for every additional hour missed to complete your education. BEING ABSENT COSTS YOU MORE MONEY! THERE ARE NO EXCUSED ABSENCES.
